Who will win on 4 vs. 4
The contestants from Top Chef seasons 1 and 2 are heading back to the kitchen this week for a little 4 on 4 challenge. This is a GREAT idea (yay Bravo). Who will win? My money is on season one (Harold, Tiffani, Dave, and Steven), but my boyfriend thinks season two (Marcel, Ilan, Sam, Elia).
We can look at this more scientifically–who do the numbers say will win? I’m assigned each chef points and adding up to figure out who has the Top Chef experience.
5 points for winning
4 points for winning an elimination challenge (excluding the finale)
3 points for winning a quick fire challenge
1 point for each episode they didn’t get kicked off
SEASON ONE
Harold: 5 + 4(2) + 3(2) + 1(12) = 31
Tiffani: 4(2) + 3(1) + 1(11) = 22
Dave: 4(3) + 3(0) + 1(10) = 22
Steven: 4(0) + 3(2) + 1(7) = 13
TEAM TOTAL: 88
SEASON TWO
Ilan: 5 + 4(2) + 3(1) + 1(13) = 29
Marcel: 4(0) + 3(2) + 1(12) = 18
Sam: 4(1) + 3(5) + 1(11) = 30
Elia: 4(2) + 3(0) + 1(11) = 19
TEAM TOTAL: 96
Ok, so the numbers say Season 2 will win. But you know, I’m still going to bet on season one. It’s hard to compare the two seasons this way, since they had difference challenges and competitors. Only way to find out which team’s got it going on is to what what happens!

I really like everyone from season 1 ( well Tiffany’s a little iffy ) and think they have a better chance of working as a team. But Marcel is my overall favorite. I don’t know how well season 2 will be able to work together with all the conflict and immature behavior on the part of some of them.
