Tim Gunn’s Martha Stewart Commercial
I love it how Tim Gunn is beginning to become a household name. Even my mother, who doesn’t get Bravo (I know, it’s soooooo sad), knows the name Tim Gunn. Recently, Tim was part of a Martha Stewart commercial, which pokes fun of fashion (in a good-humored way). Check it out!

Tim, I’ve enjoyed watching you on Project Runway over the years and now watch your new show Guide to Style regularly. You are the epitome of style, elegant grace, tact and diplomacy with an excellent sense of fashion and how to help people improve. In short, you are a terrific mentor! But I have to tell you that I do not think you did yourself a service by appearing on Martha Stewart’s commercial where you were advising Martha’s daughter to dress in Martha Stewart’s linens and then Martha appeared. Martha held a dim view of your advise and suggested taking you to her cookware retorting that “maybe it would give you an idea for hats”. You (Tim) replied happily, “Hats, I love hats!” I’m sorry Tim but Martha really made you look foolish and that will do nothing to help your image of being an advisor of sound fashion advice. Even if this was all done in fun it still leaves a questionable impression as to your aptitude.

Nancy:
1. Tim Gunn doesn’t write or read this blog.
2. I don’t think you understand the purpose of the commercial - to show that Martha Stewart’s collection is so beautiful that it could be mistaken for evening wear. At least, that’s what I got out of it…
In any case, thanks for reading!
