The Real Housewives are Back! Join Vicki Gunvalson, Lauri Waring, Jeanna Keough, Tammy Knickerbocker, and Tamra Barney on Novemeber 6!
Last night during Queer Eye for the straight guy, Bravo announced that The Real Housewives of Orange County are back! Woo hoo! Vicki, Lauri, Jeanna, Tammy, and the newest housewife, Tamara, hit your tv screen running on November 6, I’m guessing after the close of Queer Eye. I’m excited. This is definitely one show that I thought I’d hate, but have instead grown to love.
According to reports, Vicki is crazier than ever. I love that lady! With her kids gone to college, maybe she’ll have more time to spend with her family, but of course, she’s still a bit of a control freak, so she’ll be keeping a handle on Michael and Bri, I’m sure!
Lauri and George are getting married, of course, so much of her story line revolves around planning a huge, expensive wedding (you go girl!). There were some issues with her son, which were reported in the news, but I’m not sure if the show will touch on that or not. We’ll see.
Jeanne is still Jeanne. Kara’s gone to school now, and Shane is playing baseball thousands of miles away. Don’t worry though, Shane will still be a part of the show, since earlier reports noted that the Keough family and camera crew visited him in Toronto.
Tammy’s ex-husband, Lou Knickerbocker, passed away since the last season was filmed. The death, I’m sure, was a hard blow to daughters Megan and Lindsey, and may also mean a drastic change in money for the girls and Tammy.
Tamra Barney is the new girl in town! This mother-of-four proclaims that she is “the hottest OC housewife” (hehe - way to rock it with the confidence), and this season’s introduction to her life will show us her struggle to balance a new job and her family after staying home to raise four kids over the last 18 years. She hs three younger children with her now-husband, Simon, and a 21-year-old son from a previous marriage. I wonder if he’s as hot as some of the other older OC “kids” on the show *cough*shane*cough*
No Jo De La Rosa this year, but maybe they’ll update us on her, like they did with Kim! And what’s a good Real Housewives season without Slade Smiley. I’m sure we’ll catch a glimpse of him from time to time!

What a terrible disappointment to learn this show and these people will be on screen again. Television is really going down hill on a fast moving train and you have these loonies at the helm.

Well “Babs,” why reality on Bravo differs so much than other reality shows is that they show the real side of people, even loonies. While being a housewife in Orange County might sound outrageous to some, who really lives a normal life anymore? And what is normal? Aren’t these “loonie haters” really watching the OC as entertainment anyway?
And besides, even you yourself have found yourself reading about them online. There is a reason for that. So contrary to popular belief, even Orange County residents are real people.

“Bethany” You are correct, there is a reason I find myself reading about these loonies; I HAPPEN TO KNOW A FEW OF THEM PERSONALLY. Your comment, “Who really lives a normal life anymore?” C’mon. That is one of the problems in the world we live today and these so-called adults and their out-of-control kids who live their lives with a sense of entitlement add to our growing self absorbed society.

[...] I Could have a Lauri Waring Wedding… by Allison The third season of The Real Housewives of Orange County is sure to be a hit, even without Jo. One of the main events? The fabulous wedding of Lauri Waring [...]

Allison…your recommendations on wedding planning fit right in with a comment reported by, Frank Mickadeit, at the Orange County Register in his article dated 10-17 calling the wedding an…”unholy union.” It was hilarious. It was reported George even “impressed” the guests, and, the viewers, with security helicopters to fly over his house during the wedding to make it look like the paparazzi were hounding these two fools.

I’m hooked on watching this show — it’s my guilty pleasure on Tuesday nights. (And Babs, what does knowing them personally have to do with anything? One can have an opinion of them based on the show and nothing else. You don’t need to know them “personally”. I can’t believe their lifestyle, either, and I don’t know any of them personally. Don’t need to. Why waste your time and energy to spout anger on a blog about “looneys”, then? Why bother?)
Anyway, I was prepared to dislike Lauri at first, because I stereotyped her as the superficial blonde. I also thought Jeane was my favorite at first because she seemed the most down to earth. After two seasons, I find the opposite is true. Jeane seems to be medicated — she lets Shane bully her other child and her best friend, and blows it off. That infuriated me. Lauri, on the other hand, has had the experience of having no money as well as a troubled son, and she didn’t fall apart. She handled her life’s challenges as they came. Her happiness with George (who seems like a great guy) seems genuine. Jeane’s inaction with her jerk of a son turned me off. She really does seem to be coasting along — Colton defended himself against Shane’s bullying and all Jeane could say was “But you could have hit me!!” to Colton. Shane calls her best friend “Tits” and Jeane does nothing but let her “friend” twist in the wind and have to endure that public humiliation. Jeane needs to check back into real life.

Slade, to me, is either an idiot or a rutting animal, too. What I found hurtful about him was that his son, who is a musical talent, was the one who came up with the melody for Jo’s new song. So who does Shane spend all of his time promoting? Jo. Do we see him introducing his son around to all these music producers? I feel sorry for his son — his dad is role modeling chasing tail as a worthwhile lifestyle.
