Christmas like the Real Housewives
Tonight is the premier of The Real Housewives of Orange County Season Three, and really, I couldn’t be more excited. Since Halloween is over, I suppose that it is officially time to start thinking about the end-of-the-year holidays. For more, Thanksgiving doesn’t require much planning. I head to my mom’s house and she does the cooking (although this year, I may be taking my Chocolate-Caramel Banana Cream Pie!) I spend the day eating, sleeping, watching football, and pretty much repeating that schedule at least three or four times. Yay for family Thanksgivings!
But Christmas…well…that’s another matter. I decorate. I donate to charity. I make cards and presents. I plan really great gifts for friends and family. I put up lights. I wrap. I bake. Oh man, I bake…lots of cookies. I think Christmas is one of the best, most fun times of the year. And yes, as a Christian, I try hard to remember the real reason for the season, rather than getting sucked into the stress.
This year, in part because I’m moving into a nicer, bigger place and paying two rents for a bit, money is tighter than its been in awhile. Yet, I still plan to make Christmas special for everyone around me! I’ll just have to do it for a few less dollars.
In any case, because tonight is the start of season three for the Real Housewives, I have to admit that I do daydream about how much less stressful life would be with a bit more money. And could you imagine the Christmas gifts? If my family and I had millions, I’m sure that the presents would look a bit different, considering that the Coto ladies buy cars, jewelry, clothing, purses, shoes, etc. for no reason. I can only imaging what Christmas is like in the OC!
So, here’s my question for you: If you had $25,000 to spend on presents for your closest friends and families, what would you buy?
My list:
~A Wii and a bunch of games for my boyfriend
~A trip to Disney for me and my boyfriend to take together
~An Alaskan cruise for my parents
~A laptop for my little sister
~Apartment stuff for my best friends
~New house stuff for my boyfriend’s parents
~Some kind of fun trip for my Grandparents to take
~A huge kitty tower thingy for my cat, Godiva
