Reality on Bravo

Model Jesse Pavelka and Jackie Warner attended the “Tan for a Cause” celebrity mixer Sunday at Sunstyle Tanning in West Hollywood. Jackie hosted the event.

It’s one of the better reality shows on Bravo. And that’s all thanks to its star, Jackie Warner, and the entourage she keeps. Work Out returns April 15, and Jackie has been out on the town promoting the return of her sexed-up reality series.

The third season of the show appears to have just as much drama as the first two — more girlfriends and relationship woes for Jackie and some disputes with some of your favorite trainers are on the horizon, if the previews have anything to do with it.

On Sunday, Jackie was out a the Tan for a Cause celebrity mixer at Sunstyle Tanning in West Hollywood. The picture above is one of the more modest views of Ms. Warner. Let me just say the photos taken from the front show a little more than her curves.

Jackie is fabulous because she’s this kick-ass chica who knows how to run a business while still having a good time. She really cares about the people she’s training, and that comes through in every episode. Bust best of all, she knows who she is. Jackie’s not afraid to be herself, even if her mother doesn’t agree with her sexual preferences or her friends don’t agree with her choice of dates.

And I mean, come on. Her dogs are just ADORABLE.

Today’s Fabulous #11 is Brian Peeler, from Bravo’s exercise hit, Work Out.

Why is Brian fabulous? “These hands are the hands of Michaelangelo…”

Peeler is awesome because he’s that guy every girl wants to date and every guy wants to be. He’s got the ripped body of a personal trainer, but at the same time, he’s sweet and caring. This past season, he really showed us that he’s more than just a block of muscle when his best friend, fellow-trainer Doug, passed away. He opened up emotionally and I think that really helped him connect with viewers. It was such a pleasure to see him work with Floyd, his sky lab trainee, as well - Brian worked wonders.

He can train me any day. Yum.

Today’s Fabulous #15 is Rebecca Cardon, from Bravo’s Work Out.

Why is Rebecca fabulous? If I had to give you one word that most reminded me of Rebecca, I’d say ’spunk’. Miss Cardon is a firecracker, to say the least. You ask her for directions and she’ll tell you how great her ass is. You sign up for her aerobics class and she’ll gossip with you about the latest people everyone is sleeping with. Drama did not have a meaning on Bravo until Rebecca took the stage.

And I love her for that. She’s really self-confident and happy in her own skin. You can tell that she’s also one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. Sexuality and snarkiness aside, Rebbecca will be your best friend faster than she’d ever be your worst enemy. In fact, that’s pretty much how everyone acts at Sky Sport and Spa. They have their problems (who can forget the time Rebecca threw the glass of water in Jesse’s face?), but at the end of the day, it’s all gravy.

This could have been an hour-long special - I wonder why it wasn’t! Fans of Work Out everywhere are like “WTF” right now. They didn’t answer any of our major questions! Will there be any new trainers this year? Are Jackie and Rebecca still dating? When will the new season be started?

Oh well. Hope you guys enjoyed my first shot at live blogging!

There’s one word that comes to mind when I think about Work Out’s Rebecca Cardon: Spicy. Like the other ladies on the show, Rebecca is always sport but elegant. Even when she’s working out, she looks great!

This week, Bravo is showing a special Work Out “where are they now” show on Wednesday at 10. We’ll get to see what the trainers do on their days off, including what’s going on with Rebecca and Jackie, as they had a bit of a relationship last season. We’ll also catch up with Peeler, Zen, Jesse, and all of our other favorite Work Out trainers! Maybe we’ll even get a preview of the next Work Out season!

But back to the fashion in question: Rebecca Cardon. Rebecca is the queen of brightly colored, flowing dresses, which look great paired with her tanned skin and thin frame. But don’t worry - even if you don’t have the body of a trainer, you can still take a cue from Miss Cardon. The key is to look for colors that look nice with your skin tones. Specifically, look at your undertones. Is your skin more pink or more yellow? Look for colors that bring out the right qualities and take into consideration your eye and hair color. As you can see, Rebecca looks great in green, orange, yellow, and other really bright hues. Of course, her dresses may be a bit pricey for the average person. Check out the similar, inexpensive dresses I’ve found!

This great Mossimo puff-sleeve sweater dress is casual and comfortable, so you can wear it around the house, but it’s pretty enough to wear out to the mall or even to dinner with the right accessories. The high waist and the skirt that floats away from the body helps you hide a belly if that’s what you’re worried about. It’s from Target for only $27.99!

Swell’s Billabong dress comes in pink and brown - be daring and go for the pink! Again, this dress can be a great casual look for running around during the day, be with a pretty up-do and accessories, you can wear this to a nice dinner as well! This one is only $44.

Bubble-gum colors don’t look great on everyone, but sometimes subtle colors can be really fabulous as well. You don’t have to do black, chocolate brown, gray, or white! This rusty color is great, and the dress is elegant for a nice evening out, especially with some metallic shoes. You can find this Max & Cleo dress at Overstock for just $59.99 - you’ll save over $50!

Jackie Warner is still around, even if her hit Bravo show, Work Out isn’t on TV right now. Recently, I saw this interview with Jackie on the internet:

This is another reason why I love Jackie - she isn’t just a pretty face. She actually is very good at what she does, and although it will cost you an arm and a leg to work out with her, if you’re trying to lose weight, it’s worth it. Jackie definitely knows her stuff, and her trainers are only the best.

After all, you can’t lose weight with diet alone. Although that’s a big part of it, an even bigger part is exercise and weight training, Jackie’s gym, Sky Sport and Spa, is a premier place in Cali to get the job done. Oh, and don’t forget to check out her new active wear clothing line, which should be available for the public around January.

When will Work Out be back on television? Bravo hasn’t announced the season three release date yet. However, I do know that they are filming (or perhaps have finished by now), so it can’t be tooooooo far away! Work Out isn’t my favorite Bravo show, but I do enjoy learning about great work out and diet tips, and the show is never short on that kind of advice. My main question? With the death of Doug (RIP), will Jacki be adding a new trainer to the show?

In case there was any doubt in your mind, Bravo’s Work Out, along with the fabulous Jackie Warner, Peeler, Jesse, Rebbecca, and the rest of the gang, WILL be coming back for a third season next year! Filming begins during September/October, so the next season won’t be ready for months, but it will arrive at some point!

I’m not a HUGE Work Out fan myself, but I can appreciate what Bravo has done with the show, and until season three starts, we can only hope that Jackie will be shown from time to time on other shows, like she was on this past season’s Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List.

On the Work Out Season wrap-up earlier this week, Brian Peeler made the formal announcement that he was getting married! The wedding will be near his hometown on May 26, and his lovely bride-to-be, Kate, is a former client of his. Can I just take a moment to say that I’m totally jealous of their couple-hotness???

Here are some of the highlights from the Work Out special:

-Jackie charges $400 smack-a-roonies to work out with her. No that’s not per week or month. That’s per hour.

-Jackie and Rebecca are still “dating”…I think.

-Jackie has to dominate in every conversation. For real. By like, ten minutes into it, her need for power was starting to irk me a bit.

-There’s no bad blood, even after the drama on the show.

-Brian is getting married! to a client!! (Congrats and all the best)

-Erica’s boobs are totally fake.

-Jackie hates sugar.

-The best alcohol to drink when wanting to lose weight is something clear.

-Tess is still working toward her goal of becoming a personal trainer.

-Doug was well loved. He will always be missed. Always. If you want to know about Doug’s passing, don’t assume–go read Brian Peeler’s blog. Doug’s ashes were spread exactly as he wanted.

-Jackie is a painter.

-The scar on Brian’s head is from when he was ten. He had an accident on a diving board.

Work Out Fans, don’t forget that tonight is the season’s wrap up session, a reunion in talk-show format with the ever-cheesy Andy Cohen. I know that I touched on this already, but I just wanted to again highlight the wonderful man that Douglas Blasdell was. Even though most of us only knew him from Work Out, he has touched the lives of many and will continue to do so with the help of his friends and fans.
