I love MadTV! I also miss Project Runway. Here’s a look at a little skit they did awhile ago featuring none other than “Tim Gunn”. If you want to check out more YouTube goodness, head over to YouTube Digger.

Designer Emmett McCarthy is multi-tasking. He’s giving a phone interview from his New York City boutique, EMC2, sending off an e-mail to “Project Runway” guru Tim Gunn and answering another ringing phone to give someone a job lead. Since his stint on the second season of the wildly popular Bravo hit, “Project Runway,” the North Haven-born and raised McCarthy said the experience on the reality show was “catapulting. “It totally brought me to a place I was unprepared for,” he said.
See, not all of the Project Runway stars are doing poorly post-show…right? Well, for the rest of the interview, click here.
With over 800 people in attendance, the very publicized Cosa Nostra fashion show by designer Jeffrey Sebelia (http://homepage.mac.com/reveur/JeffreySebelia-Show/index.html) packed in LA’s fashion elite and VIP. Jeffrey Sebelia, the most recent winner of the Emmy-Nominated Bravo television show Project Runway, not only featured an amazing collection but also the hottest new beverages to hit the market, which included 420 Artesian Water.READ MORE
I heart Jeffrey.
Dug up some Project Runway videos because I miss this show. Check out more of what YouTube has to offer on www.youtubedigge.com
With casting for the new season of Project Runway underway, Tim Gunn and posse are swamped with work. He did, however, take a few minutes out to discuss with Entertainment Weekly how casting is going.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: It’s lunch time now, but there are still several dozen hopefuls waiting outside. How do you mentally prepare for these full days of Runway casting?
TIM GUNN: With three seasons of casting behind us, I remind myself that the days seem excruciatingly long as they’re unfolding, but the entire process is over before you can blink an eye. I also remind myself that we’re going to see a profusion of mind-numbingly dumb and boring clothes…Read more…

We all know how great Project Runway is, but it’s nice to see them getting some awards to justify the fan base. GLAAD recently awarded the show with “Outstanding Reality Programing.” According to reports,
Bravo’s “Project Runway” style guru Tim Gunn accepted the award for the series and said, “I don’t know whether people realize the seminal work of Bravo and, by definition Bravo’s support of the LGBT community. Beginning with ‘Queer Eye’ and transcending to ‘Project Runway’ and ‘Work Out,’ Bravo’s content dispels myths, challenges stereotypes and positions LGBT issues thoughtfully and respectfully. Winning this award is quite possibly my proudest moment.”
Added Bravo President Lauren Zalaznick, “This GLAAD award recognizes Bravo’s commitment to present our diverse and eclectic view of the world through the creativity of our programming.” Read more
Workout and Queer Eye were also nomination.

Mychael Knight is blowing up the fashion world. The season three contestant on Project Runway may not have won the grand prize, but he’s in the spotlight more than most of the other cast members put together. Check out come pictures from his latest collection, from the Peach Magazine “Knight Time” show:

If you’re anything like me, you just can’t get enough of Project Runway, even if Bravo shows the same episodes over and over and over again. Season three, my personal favorites were Uli and Jeffrey, but another one of the top contenders was Mychael Knight (although, at that point he still spelled his name Michael).
Out of everyone on PR, Mychael is def the one making a name for himself–literally, I guess since he found that a y would do his name more justice than an i…but I digress…
In any case, Mychael is doing a line for Starbucks, and late this month will be a part of Rip the Runway, a BET fashion show set to air March 14th at 10 PM (set your TiVo so you can see Top Design at the same time!). Chris Brown and Ciara will be hosting and other design lines will include Kimora Lee Simmons’ Baby Phat, Nelly’s Apple Bottom, Amaya Swimwear, and Nike’s Brand Jordan. Mark your calenders!

I used to watch Rachael Ray’s daytime TV show everyday at 3 because, well, I’m a sure for easy cooking (for some of 451’s own easy recipes, check out Stephanie’s blog). I haven’t watched for a while, though, because I’ve been busy, but with my new lappy top in hand, I decided to do some work in front of the TV today.
When Rach came on, who should be one of her guests but the fabulous Tim Gunn, from Bravo’s Project Runway! In honor of the upcoming Oscars, he went though and gave some evening gown dos and don’ts, and Rachael announces that her dress for the ball was goingto be made by non other than the fabulous Uli, one of the runner ups from last season’s PR.
I’m uber excited because I loved Uli throughout the whole show–she’s a great person AND a great designer. In case you guys can’t remember her or lived under a rock and didn’t watch the show, here is a piece from her PR finally collection:

Sophisticated but fun. Perfect for Rachael! I’m really excited to see what she’ll be wearing!
Unlike the fame found with some reality show contestants, Project Runway winners don’t really seem to translate well as celebrities into the world. Jeffrey Sebelia, the season three winner who was inspired to try out for the show after talking to his friend Santino, from season two, is one such PR star who is now broke.
The show gives winners $100,000 to help them get a career started, but once Jeffrey paid off his debts and accounted for the time he lost during the taping of the show, he didn’t have much left. He still gets mobbed by fans on the streets sometimes, but the real business is trickling in very slowly, and his own business is hurting from the time off he spent to be on Project Runway.
His biggest claim to fame after the show was probably the suit he made for Seal, but other than that he hasn’t been having much success. His line is still edgy, but his prices are too high to the young crowd that is his main market, with t-shirts starting at $100 and dresses at $500.
Right now, although he’s embarrassed to admit it, Jeffrey is working as the costume designer for the upcoming Bratz movie, you know, as he says “those slutty dolls.” I don’t think he’s going to disappear from the industry altogether, but I do hope that business picks up for him soon, since he’s got great talent.
Who will pack their knives and go this week? Will Jackie Warner ever break up with Mimi? Who is in and who is "auf"? Is Lauri Waring fighting with Jo Del La Rosa? Will James Lipton interview your favorite star next?
